Southwest Sports Network is adding staff for the upcoming school year. We are looking for camera operators, play-by-play annoucers and salespeople. All opportunities are part-time contractor positions.
Open Positions:
- Camera Person / Video Editing
o Part-time, seasonal; current availability for fall sports (varied hours, various sports)
o Contract work; pay is $40+ per game (based on experience); paychecks will be cut twice per month
o Most work is within Maricopa County; if you go outside of the county, travel rates will be negotiated with SWSN prior to the work being completed
o Business casual dress is required
o In addition to camera work, you will be required to make contact with the team contact person at each game; you will also be responsible for meeting with a representative from SWSN to exchange equipment. You will also often interact with a play-by-play announcer who will be calling the game live and providing you with instruction during live games.
o Reliability is a must, as is promptness, an approachable personality, and a steady hand for the camera; experience is not required but is helpful. Basic training and regular feedback are given. Absences with no notice are not tolerated.
o Other duties as assigned

o Part-time, seasonal; current availability for fall sports (varied hours, various sports)

o You will be required to call games live, and possibly conduct interviews, provide a pre-game summary, and post-game summary. You will often interact with a cameraman and provide him/her with direction on when to start/stop, etc. You will likely also interact with SWSN and team representatives on a regular basis, both by phone and in person.
o Reliability is a must, as is promptness, an approachable personality, and a solid play-by-play skill. Basic training for the equipment and regular feedback are given. Absences with no notice are not tolerated.

- Salesperson
o Part-time or full-time available; commission work only based on percentage of sales made.
o Sales strategy includes some cold calling, both by phone and in person, to businesses, booster clubs, and schools.
o Different commissions given based on:
§ Phone sales vs. in-person sales
§ Single game sales vs. season passes
§ Advertising vs. sponsorships
o You will be provided with basic sales materials and will be responsible for regular reporting to SWSN on contacts made. All contracts will be routed through the SWSN office.
o Proven sales experience and references are REQUIRED. Promptness for appointments and in reporting are also required. Sample sales presentation will be required at second interview stage.
